Why customers ask for a HumiSeal® alternative
Conformal coating is a qualified, audited process step — IPC-CC-830 files, coverage maps, inspection programmes — which makes the coating itself a classic single-source exposure. The migration enquiries Incure receives are usually driven by supply strategy: adding a second qualified source, moving from solvent-borne to 100%-solids UV chemistry to remove flash-off ovens and VOC handling, cutting cure-cycle time, or securing Asian supply for lines in Singapore, Malaysia and China. Incure manufactures both UV-curable and silicone conformal coatings, so the candidate conversation starts from your process, not from one chemistry.
Two chemistry routes, mapped
| If your HumiSeal® coating is… | Incure candidate family | Representative grades (Incure database values) |
|---|---|---|
| An acrylic or urethane coating you want to convert to fast 100%-solids UV cure | Ultra-Illumina™ UV conformal coatings | 3511 — 100–200 cP, clear fluorescing, ultra-fast cure · 3552 — 300–600 cP, dual UV + heat cure for shadowed areas · 5454F — 11,000–22,000 cP non-sag gel for vertical potting and edge dams |
| A UV-curable coating (second-source qualification) | Ultra-Illumina™ UV conformal coatings | Same family; viscosity matched to your spray, dip or selective-coat equipment; fluorescing for existing blacklight inspection |
| A silicone coating (high temperature, harsh environment) | Pyra-Sil™ silicone conformal coatings | 864 — 400–600 cP, self-levelling, tack-free in 10 min, fluoresces, −45 to 260 °C · 880 — 800–1,200 cP, room-temp cure, fluoresces · 890 — 100–125 cP two-part, weather & UV resistant |
| A coating needing cure in shadowed geometry | Pyra-Sil™ UV silicone dual-cure | 905 — 350–750 cP, 10-second UV fixation with 72-hour moisture shadow-cure, −45 to 260 °C · 901 — 6,500–8,500 cP UV/moisture dual cure |
What the qualification covers
- Application method: viscosity matched to your selective-coating, spray or dip line — custom viscosity available for jetting windows.
- Inspection: fluorescing versions across both families keep existing UV-inspection stations valid.
- Electrical and environmental performance: dielectric, insulation-resistance, humidity and thermal-shock testing per your IPC-CC-830 / in-house protocol — the qualification toolkit maps directly onto coating qualification.
- Cure profile: UV/LED dose matched to your installed source; dual-cure grades for connectors and component shadows; silicone room-temperature cure where ovens are unavailable.
How the evaluation works
The seven-step conversion process applies: submit the HumiSeal® product code and your application method, receive the closest Ultra-Illumina™ or Pyra-Sil™ candidates with database values and budgetary pricing, run coated-coupon and board-level testing with supplied samples, and qualify on documented evidence. Incumbent values come from the manufacturer's current published TDS — never estimated.

Incure figures are database values for the referenced Incure grades (viscosity in cP, temperature in °C); they are not measurements of, or claims about, any Chase Corporation product. Candidate suitability is always subject to application validation on your assemblies and process.
